5  STEPS TO YOUR COUTURIER SUIT

STEP

01

THE
FABRIC

SELECT YOUR FABRIC

The fabric is the foundation of the suit. Consider the weather, the occasion, and your body type when choosing the material. Our couturiers will assist you to determine the material that will work best for the kind of suit you have in mind. Wool is a classic choice. Linen is also popular, especially in warm weather. Couturier’s team will present you ranges of finest fabrics imported from our exclusive partner mills in Italy and the UK.

STEP

02

THE
STYLE

DECIDE ON THE STYLE

Do you want a classic three- or two-button suit? Or are you partial to the trendier one-button? Double-breasted or single? What about vents? Do you want them on the center or at the sides? And lapels: notched or peaked? For trousers, styles include pleated or flat-front, cuffed or not. The lining, though unseen for the most part, may be in contrasting colors and patterns. We are there to suggest what suits you to the best with respect to your purpose, style and comfort.

THE
FIT

MEASUREMENT FOR PERFECT FIT

We are meticulous and our go beyond standard measurements (waist, chest, and sleeve), adding the width of the leg and the wrist taking as many as 19 measurements. Tell us how you'd like your suit to fall on your shoulders, waist and shoes.
That's the beauty of a couturier suit and you won't need to have it altered several times before it fits perfectly.

STEP

04

THE
BASTED
FITTING

TRIAL OF YOUR MASTERPIECE

It is called the basted fitting because, at this point, your COUTURIER suit is temporarily stitched together with white basting thread, the basted fitting will be the first time you actually get to try on your couturier suit. This is also your opportunity to make changes to the item. The master tailor will then use the fitting to fine tune the coat and trousers, so it drapes perfectly over your body. No shortcuts are taken, and every inch of your body will be examined so that your garment won’t require any alterations.
